Car Racing is a sport where vehicles race around a track or road course in competition. It is a form of motor sports and is practiced worldwide by professionals and amateurs in different categories, including speedway races, stock-car racing, sports-car racing, drag racing, midget-car racing, karting and rally driving.
The rules of the sport vary from country to country, and the governing bodies vary, too. Some governing bodies are based on elected governing boards, others are more like the Olympics in structure.
Formula One (F1), the most famous international racing championship, is run by the FIA. The FIA also oversees World Rallying and a number of other international motorsport events.
F1 cars are designed by teams with a wide variety of expertise, and their drivers have to learn how to work with them. They also have to learn about the track they are racing on.
Drivers also must pay attention to the other cars on the track. If the car in front of them drifts up the track going through a turn, for example, it’s an ideal time to pass.
Similarly, the driver in front can also overtake when the cars in front of them are on the formation lap or at the end of a DRS zone. A move at the end of a DRS zone, however, is illegal unless no significant portion of the car in front of him is alongside him when the move is made.
In all kinds of racing, there are a number of physical challenges that the driver must overcome. If the driver doesn’t have sufficient strength, endurance and mobility, then he will not be able to keep up with the other drivers on the track.
